Not to sound cliche, but... Welcome to the new site!
Many years have passed, and over time our website has grown and evolved with us. If you've followed the site over the years, you'll find it is truly a representation of my growth as a web developer. It's really been the testing ground for a lot of new methods and coding styles that I have gone on to implement in other projects. Thanks for putting up with the errors.. god only knows there's been enough over time. In the beginning the FPS site piggybacked off of my own personal site (djtranzit.com - now defunct), and was coded strictly in basic HTML. No CSS, no PHP, no database. A Perl script handled the downloads, and we ran a terrible message board software.. that was essentially that. It worked, but, frankly, it sucked (Time Capsule). As I moved into a new server, I gained access to PHP and MySQL; a big step in the right direction. Once again, things got re-vamped, and another new design went up. This one was a bit closer to respectable, and things were coming together (Time Capsule). After a while, I found some better software, and converted into once again... another new system. Things improved, and we (I) decided to keep this look for a good while. Things ran well, but it was very limited to what it could do, and there were a lot of things that just didn't work well, or, at all! (Time Capsule). So, again, we re-design and try again, found something a bit more slimmed down, but it was still full of complete clutter. This revision was relatively clean, yet it was truly a mis-mash of every different type of software out there. Our gallery was a real pain in the ass to work with, hence why you never saw anything ever added after the first few weeks, and the message board turned from something fun and interactive to be a place to find the latest ads for Viagra, Cialis, and Breast Enhancements. While we DO love big boobs, we haven't gotten THAT old that we're resorting to blue pill, so that needed to go (Time Capsule). So, here we are, in present day. I've re-designed the site to be a hell of a lot easier to use on the back end (which means more updates, more frequently), and it's slimmed down quite a bit. No more message board, and all the garbage has been removed. There may still be a few quirks, but I think we've got it all ironed out. Hope you enjoy the new look.
